About Meraki

MERAKI ARTISAN is a specialty coffee micro-roaster, craft chocolate maker, and in-house bakery — born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in late 2015.

It started in a small apartment on the second floor of an old building in Ar Rawdah, founded by Mohamed Shata, Mohamed Hafiz, and Chef Sraa Medher as a roast-to-order online coffee roaster. After sharing photos of the roastery and coffee bar our on social media, followers fell in love with the space, and requests for private visits poured in. So the team began welcoming guests every Saturday. The community grew quickly, and it soon became clear that Meraki needed a permanent home. Our first flagship opened in 2020 on Abdulmaqsud Khojah Street.

We believe that excellence lives in the small details, and that the finest products are made only when every detail is cared for. To create something truly exceptional, one must be meticulous — not sometimes, but always. This belief became our mantra, guiding every choice, every ingredient, and every hand-crafted product that carries our name.

We do almost everything ourselves — not because it's easy, but because we know no one else will care for it the way we do. We bake every recipe from scratch. We grind our direct-traded cacao nibs into silky chocolate and mold every bar by hand. We churn our own Madagascar vanilla ice cream. We source the finest and rarest green coffee beans and roast them with precision in small batches. Even the water in our espresso machine is measured down to its mineral structure — GH and KH included. When we say meticulous, we mean it at every step.

Curiosity and innovation drive us — not only in what we make, but in how we operate. We evolve, improve, experiment, and push boundaries, always asking: how can this be better?

We stand firmly for farmers' rights, and for sustainable, renewable practices. We partner only with those who honor ethical methods, and we pay premiums above market and Fair Trade minimums — because great craft begins with the people who nurture it at origin.
